Description

I've been a big BioShock fan for a few years now and I've always wanted to Cosplay from it. Originally I planned to Cosplay as a Little Sister from BioShock 2, but I never found material that I liked to make a dress or contacts for the right look. My friend Chris surprised everyone at Con-G by making a Splicer costume and he suggested we get a group together for AN and I jumped at the idea. :3

My dress was purchased on eBay. It was quite big around the bodice when I first got it, but I modified it by several inches. It's actually still too big for me. XD The shoulders kept slipping down, but that sort of worked for the Splicer motif. I did quite a bit of work to add rips to the dress and staining, but it really didn't show in photos. After the con I added more fake blood and rips. I know it's not accurate to any in-game design, but I had fun with it and I think the costume had a pretty good Baby Jane vibe.

The mask was my favourite part of the costume. It was made from a pre-made plastic cat mask and with help from my friend Adrien; I painted it black and took a few chunks out of it. I sculpted the gold details with clay mache and painted them using paint and gold leaf. My whiskers were black pipe cleaners.

I posed quite a bit with my prop replica Eve Hypo which I bought a couple of years ago. It finally came in handy!

I adore the photos Amanda took of our Splicer group! We were 9 people strong and we received a great reaction at the con. I'm really surprised at how cool this outfit looked and I look forward to eventually re-wearing this costume for more creepy photos. X3

Which bioshock is this from out of curiosity? My older brother played it a lot when he was living with my family.
